FLAX SEEDS

 

Flax seeds are commonly known as Alsi seeds.

Botanical Name-- LINUM USITATISSIMUM

Flax seeds are a blue flowering crop that produces small, flat seeds ranging in color from golden yellow to reddish brown.
The seeds are commonly consumed in one of the 3 ways
whole seed, ground seed, or flaxseed oil.

Most of the benefits reported from flaxseed consumption are believed to be due to the following 3 important components found in flaxseeds
Alpha- Linolenic Acid, Lignans, Fiber.

Flaxseeds oil is unique oil that it is composed of 73% polysaturated fatty acid (PUFA), 18% Monosaturared fatty acid (MUFA), and 9% Saturated fatty acid (SFA).

Making it a low saturated fat food It is also the richest known source of the Omega 3 fatty acids, ALA, which comprises 55% of the total fatty acid.
Flax seeds are one of the world's renowned super foods.
These seeds are very nutritious and helping in a serving several health condition.
Like they are beneficial in cardiac disorders, digestive diseases, cancer and diabetes.
They have unique characteristics to make you feel satisfied when these seeds are eaten before meal.
Thus it reduces food cravings and excessive hunger that occurs in obese people.

Therefore these seeds are also good to include in the diet plans for losing weight.
Hence it is highly nutritious..
