SEAFOOD
INTRODUCTION:
Seafood is any form of sea life regarded as food by humans. Seafood prominently includes fish and shellfish. Shellfish includes various species of Mollusca, crustaceans, and echinoderms.Edible sea plants, such as some seaweed and microalgae, are widely eaten as seafood around the world, especially in Asia. In North America, the term "seafood" is extended to fresh water organisms eaten by humans, so all edible aquatic life may be referred to as seafood.The harvesting of seafood is usually known as fishing or hunting and the cultivation and farming of seafood is known as aquaculture, or fish farming in the case of fish. Seafood is an important source of proteins in many diets around the world.
Some seafood is used as food for other plant (fertilizer).In these ways, seafood are indirectly used to produce further food for human consumption.
HEALTH BENEFITS OF SEAFOOD:
1-PROVIDES ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS: Though the specifics depend upon which type of seafood you consume, seafood is known for being a natural source of vitamins & minerals, B-complex vitamins, vitamin-d etc.
2-PROMOTES HEART HEALTH: Seafood is nutritious enough & contains high protein, its greatest health benefit lies in its abundant source of omega-3 fatty acids. In fact they can significantly reduce the risk of cardiovascular events from occurring such as arrhythmias strokes & heart attacks.
3-MAINTAIN EYESIGHT: That seafood which consume omega-3 fatty acids are less likely to suffer from age-related macular degeneration, a disease that can result in the loss of vision.
4-GOOD SKIN: Seafood helps preserve moisture in the skin. The omega-3 fatty acids in seafood protect the skin against UV rays from the sun.
5-BOOSTS BRAINPOWER: A sufficient intake of DHA & EPA found in omega-3 fatty acids promotes proper brain growth in infants and children.
